Temporary work

Different desk, same standards.

Temporary work suits people who are good with other people, quick to settle in and happy to take responsibility for the day in front of them. If that sounds like you, we would like to talk.

How the work comes

Assignments depend on what clients need and who suits the site, so we cannot promise constant work. What we can do is be clear with you about what is there.

01

Single days

One off cover when somebody is away or a building needs an extra pair of hands.

02

Planned cover

A week or two booked in advance, often the same site more than once.

03

Longer assignments

Several weeks or months in one place, where the client wants continuity.

Mostly reception and front of house, workplace host, concierge and guest services, administration and office support roles, across the City, West End and Central London.

What we look for

Reliability

Turning up, on time, on the days you have agreed. It sounds obvious and it matters more than anything else.

Communication

Letting us know early if something changes, rather than at the last moment or not at all.

Professionalism

Presentation, discretion and the sort of manner that suits the building you are working in.

Adaptability

Every reception runs differently. Picking up a new system or routine quickly is a real skill.

Judgement

Knowing what to handle yourself and when to ask. Front of house is full of small decisions.

Ownership

When you accept a booking, the client is expecting you rather than somebody else, and we know we can rely on that.

We would rather know you than guess

Before we put you forward for anything, we want a proper sense of your experience and where you are likely to do well. It makes for better days on both sides.

  • The work you have done and the environments you know
  • Your availability, and how far ahead you can plan
  • Where in London you are happy to travel to
  • Systems and software you have used
  • The kind of site you enjoy and where you work at your best

Practical guidance on timesheets, pay, arrival, absence and conduct on site belongs in Temporary Worker Resources.

Not sure whether temporary or permanent work suits you at the moment? Compare the two routes.

A short form about your experience, availability and where you like to work is the place to start. It takes a couple of minutes and Emma or Nina will pick it up from there.

We ask only what we need at this stage. You do not need to have documents ready, but if you have a CV handy you can select it on the form. If you would also consider permanent work, you can say so on the same registration.
