Applications are not the same as the right person.
Plenty of businesses recruit directly, and often it works well. Where we tend to add something is in the work that happens before anyone reaches your desk: understanding the role properly, finding people who are not actively looking, and speaking to them in enough depth to know whether they are worth your time.
Permanent, office-based appointments. Based in London, working mainly across the City, West End and Central London.

Two different things
An advert brings you applications. Whether the right person is among them is a separate question, and answering it takes time most teams do not have spare.
Reading, sorting, calling, chasing and rearranging interviews is a real job on top of the one you already have. Our role is to do that part properly, so the time you spend is spent on people who are genuinely relevant.
Before a shortlist reaches you
Most of the work sits here, and it is the part that decides whether the introductions are any good.
- 01
Understanding the brief
We ask about the role, the team around it, how the business actually works day to day and what will make someone successful in the first six months.
- 02
Search and reach
Some of the strongest people are not reading job adverts. We approach people directly, and we speak to people we already know well.
- 03
Real conversations
Every person we put forward has had a proper conversation with us, not a two minute call to confirm they are still available.
- 04
Assessment
We test the detail behind a CV: what someone has genuinely been responsible for, how they work and where they are strongest.
- 05
Motivation and fit
Why someone is moving, what they want next and the kind of environment they work well in. It is usually the part that decides whether a hire lasts.
- 06
A considered shortlist
A small number of people, with a clear view of why each one is worth your time, and an honest note on anything you should weigh up.

A CV only tells part of the story.
It shows where someone has worked. It rarely shows how they work, what they enjoy, or the sort of team they do their best work in. We ask about all of that, and we ask the same kinds of questions about your business and the role.
The aim is not to send you as many CVs as possible. It is to introduce a smaller number of people we have thought about carefully.

Hiring permanently? Talk to the Perm team.
A short conversation about the role, the team and what you are trying to solve is usually the quickest way to work out whether we can help.
If it helps to think the role through first, the brief guide below covers what we would ask you anyway.
