Their first day

Ten minutes now can transform their first day.

A temp can be experienced, capable and fully briefed by us, and still be walking into your building for the very first time. The difference is usually made in the first half hour.

None of this takes long. All of it shows in how the day goes.

Before they arrive

Mostly about making sure the building knows they are coming.

  • Tell reception and security

Somebody expecting them by name removes the most common first-day problem.

  • Sort access in advance

A pass, a code, a visitor booking or simply a person to meet them. Whatever applies where you are.

  • Decide who is meeting them

And who covers it if that person is delayed or in a meeting.

  • Send us anything unusual

If there is something they should know before they set off, tell us and we will make sure they arrive prepared.

When they arrive

The orientation that no briefing from us can replace.

  • Show them the essentials

Where to put their coat, kitchen, toilets, fire exits and where to sit.

  • Introduce the people

The names they will need in the first hour matter more than the full org chart.

  • Explain who they report to

One clear point of contact, and who to go to if that person is not around.

  • Walk through the first tasks

Systems, phones, visitor process, anything with a knack to it.

Before you leave them to it

The last five minutes are the ones people remember.

  • Say what good looks like

How you like things done here is rarely written down anywhere.

  • Cover the not-obvious

The quirks: the door that sticks, the caller who always asks for the same person, the busy hour.

  • Agree how to reach you

So a small question does not become a stalled morning.

Speak to us

Anything particular they should know before they set off? Tell us and we will pass it on.
